The City Attorney's Office is responsible for directing and supervising the legal affairs of the City of Kenner.  The City Attorney and Assistant City Attorneys are in-house counsel and are available to provide legal advice to the Mayor, the City Council, members of the Administration and various departments throughout the City. This office handles a variety of legal issues including but not limited to litigation, drafting of legislation and contracts, and the issuance of legal opinions to the Mayor, the City Council, and administrative department heads.  This office serves as legal counsel to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Zoning Adjustments and the Alcoholic Beverage Review Committee.

Public Records Requests

The City Attorney’s Office oversees all requests to view public records.  All requests for public information must be in writing and include the name of the document you wish to review, the name of the originating department (if known), your name, address and other pertinent contact information.  The City Attorney’s Office will contact you as soon as the documents are available for review.
